Dementia Home Consultation

Dementia is a group of symptoms caused by various other diseases or conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's or stroke. There are declines in cognitive and physical functioning. Emotional and behavioral changes often appear as well.

It is both physically and emotionally challenging to care for a loved one with dementia, but Clark at Home can help. Clark Retirement Community is the first organization in the United States to be awarded national accreditation for its dementia services. You will benefit from this expertise.

Clark at Home has a dementia home consultation service which includes a comprehensive yet unobtrusive home assessment by our nurse and the Clark Dementia Services Coordinator. This duo brings decades of experience to your home and consults with you on a wide range of matters including safety, health, nutrition and transportation. They also conduct cognitive testing and assess daily living needs.

Based on their findings, an individualized plan is formulated and given to you. Included in this presentation is education about the recommendations as well as information about modifying favorite activities and maintaining relationships. Periodic follow up evaluations are also available.

Massage

Massage therapy has been practiced for thousands of years. Contemporary research is supporting the conclusion that massage therapy can have positive effects on heart rate and blood pressure, blood and lymphatic circulation, muscles, tendons and ligaments, pain and mood. Studies are also focusing on the use of massage for cancer patients, pre-term infants, and chronic neck and back pain.

Clark at Home has a Certified Massage Therapist who comes to your home armed with a table that has 9" padding, pillows to ensure comfortable positioning, essential oils and high end lotions. If requested, a specially designed massage chair is also available.

Massages make great gifts. We've had clients receive massage presents for holiday celebrations or even as a comfort measure following a family death.
